An antique table is a very popular purchase when it comes to the realm of antiques. This is because these items are very practical in nature. Almost every home in the world makes use of tables as surfaces for eating.

There are many different types of wood which were used for antique table options. Mahogany, walnut, oak, and pine are just a few examples. Rosewood is also popular in certain areas. This is primarily true for Western civilizations. In China, elm is usually the most common.

An antique table created from wood will have a quality and rich texture which many modern furniture options try to mimic. Laminate and wood veneer are a couple options which may be used in the creation of contemporary furnishings to create the same effect. Each real style of wood will have a distinct grain and color.
