Antique Clock

An antique clock may be classified by any of a number of attractive forms. This is in addition to its brand. Here are a few broad examples of the different types which exist:

•Advertising – These options were created for promotional purposes. Leather oil, chocolate, and whiskey are just a few products which they may advertise.

•Beehive – Antique clock designs which fall under this category have their curved sides meet at a peak.

•Drop dial – A pendulum will be housed in a trunk extension of these dial clocks.

•OG or Ogee – This is a self type of American clock known for its rectangular case that is framed by a wave-like molding.

•Skeleton – The skeleton clock design allowed the viewer to see the internal workings of a clock, generally under the protection of a glass dome. They were popular during the late 18th century and early 19th century.

These broad antique clock categories may also be narrowed down to a few more specific ones. For instance, beehive clocks may come in such forms as "gothic" or "ripple."
